December, 1982 -- I was 'priviledged' to join the L.A. glitteratti invited to attend this fabulous fete at the chi-chi Morton's Restaurant. Frankly, it was unbelievably pretentious and not at all about Pat's work, as you might expect. Nagel was obviously uncomfortable with being fawned over by those seeking to be seen. Later that week (I believe it was), Collins, who at that time was as hot as a two-dollar-pistol, got on the Carson show, brought the print and talked about Nagel. It did more for his career than all the years of his submissions to Playboy combined. He was an 'overnight' success. In truth, we could never sell the serigraph -- as hot as she was, people just didn't seem to want a portrait of Joan Collins over their couch.
